NaNoWriMo
Student Publishing partners with NaNoWriMo Young Writers Program to offer every K-5 winner a FREE paperback copy of their story!
Easy for students:
After you add students, you can print and distribute customized forms so they can login directly to their own book. The program is web-based so if you see a student is falling behind on their word count, they can login from any computer to catch up! Students can also import their work once they’ve finished their novels using the PDF upload option.
Fun:
Students will love the ability to make drawings online and use our hundreds of paintable backgrounds and stickers (which can be useful in the brainstorming stage as well). Students can also upload photos or scan in hand-drawings to illustrate their stories! Or once again, students can upload entire stories already complete using the PDF upload tool.
Finished Books and Extra Copies:
Every finished book will come in a choice of 7 cover colors and will include a title, dedication, and ‘About-the-Author’ biography page with the author’s photo. Parents will love the opportunity to cherish their student’s hard work with an extra copy in paperback or hardback; or order an extra of each student’s book and start a ‘Student Authors’ section in the school Library!
National Novel Writing Month
November 1st – 30th!!!
What is the NaNoWriMo Young Writers Program?
The thing that matters most in NaNoWriMo is output. Our high-velocity approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly. As you spend November writing, you can draw comfort from the fact that, all around the world, other National Novel Writing Month participants of all ages are going through the same joys and sorrows of producing the Great Frantic Novel. In 2009, 167,000 adults participated through our main site, and 35,000 young writers participated through our Young Writers Program.
